Ritas Lolitas were founded in the fall of 1994. Geir Hovig in NRK P3 once said:
"Ritas Lolitas were named after a faded sexbomb from Kristiansand".
She's not faded, but the rest is true!
Ritas Lolitas have played a lot of clubs, from Stavanger to Oslo,
since the band started out. This include Gamla in Oslo,
Muddys Pub in Spydeberg, Highway 61 in Kristiansand,
Det Murede Pakkhus in Farsund and Ovenpaa in Stavanger.
Ritas Lolitas have also played at Christiansand Blues Club several times
and participated at Bragdøya Blues Festival in Kristiansand the first
two years the festival was arranged.
It was kind of special for the band when they were asked to replace
Stan Webb & his Chickenhacks at the festival in 1998.
The result was great and Ritas Lolitas got excellent reviews from
the audience and the papers covering the event.
In the summer of 1999 Ritas Lolitas played at the Skagenfestival in Denmark.
Both the Friday night and Saturday night gigs were sold out
and the reviews were once again splendid.
At the 26th of May 2000 Ritas Lolitas played the 12 Bar Club in London,
a well known blues club close to Soho in the heart of London.
